My best friend Kay has just booked her trip. She'll be arriving in late September. Even as we speak, via email, she is perusing maps and planning our itinerary. Alcatraz, here I come. Again.
This will, I have no doubt, be the most fun we've had since we went to Graceland on Halloween two years ago.
Maybe this time, we'll get those tatoos.
In the next story, Postmodern Sass knows the way back to San Jose. When Kay arrives, the BFFs take a "Thelma and Louise" photo, and visit the Winchester Mystery House.

Ha! so true. A true test of friendship is "would s/he travel to [Fargo ND, Iceland, ...] to visit me?"
People haven't queued up to visit me in Stuttgart.
Recently travelled from UK to New Zealand to visit friend who had emigrated.
Kay here - in Bermuda - I'm still waiting for my ace girl to visit me here! I've only been here 13 years and I'm still waiting......
Sass, I cant believe you've never visited Kay in Bermuda!
Anyway, more, I want to hear more about California........
My family ALWAYS wants to visit my sister in California and NEVER visit me up here!
Cut me a break, Genie. Remember, Kay moved to Bermuda without telling me, and didn't speak to me for the first eight years that she lived there.
